Undyed, non-processed wild silk derived in a cruelty manner from silkworms by women artisans in Assam, India. Peace silk is a non-violent silk which does not kill the silkworm in the process of fibre extraction. The silkworms are allowed to come out of the cocoon and turn into moths. The empty silk cocoon is then boiled, cleaned and air-dried. The yarn is extracted by hand and woven on a handloom. The resulting fabric is soft to the skin with a slightly uneven texture due to the hand spun nature.
